The line

The line never seems to be drawn right where we want or expect it to be. Sometimes what is brightest or most definite is not really what we should be using as a guide. We apply a lot of logic and years of experience- good and bad, to determining where the line is.
Today my four year old daughter was playing a game with her mother and I. Name a shape that starts with the letter...... Hallie said H and all we could come up with was hexagon. She said no, the answer is heart!

Mexico and Texas

I am interested to see whether these pictures go together to anyone other than me.

A Longer Nap

When I caught up with Renee' and Hallie they were in the museum at Monte Alban. Hallie couldn't figure out why they had the bones of this person in the floor. And I had no answer that I was confident she would understand. As a Christian I don't see them as anything but bones, just like mine will be some day. But as a person it just doesn't seem right. Weeks later Hallie brought it up again. Renee' and I were a little worried that she might be really troubled but she told us...... "that's why we are going to be burned up, right?"..... her solution to being put in the floor. We couldn't remember ever talking about cremation, certainly not to our four year old. Day's later a light came on- we had a pet cremated nearly a year ago.I am so proud of her, she is so alive, joyous, and for now- and I pray forever- so unafraid of the dark. So comfortable with being alive.
